treasures I have picked up lately.
Do you remember Sindy's or were you a Barbie fan.
I had Sindy's so that shows my age.
I could not resist these three at a local boot sale.
When I was younger I had the dark haired one.
As you can see no clothes so I decided to knit some.
I did not have any patterns just made it up as I went along.
This one I decided trousers jumper and a necklace.
This one I decided on a full length dress with matching hairband.
I also knitted her some white undies....
I added a flower trim to her dress and hairband.
The third I knitted a cute dress and red long shorts.
And added a strawberry button to her pocket.
This doll has had her hair cut so I put it all up with a orange ribbon.
They are all now dressed and ready to party the night away.
I had a Sindy, a blonde one I think! One of my cousins had masses of clothes for her Sindy and we used to share. Wonder what happened to her! My Sindy that is, I know what happened to my cousin!! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Amy.Glad you remember your cousin Ha! Ha!.So cute you shared the clothes. I had a friend who's mum used to make us all extra clothes for our dolls. We were so lucky.

I hate dolls and only accepted a Sindy because she had a horse! I think I had a Barbie horse too but no Barbie. Or was it two Sindy horses in different colours? I can remember one was chestnut and the other palomino but oddly enough I can't remember Sindy's hair colour. lol
ReplyDeleteEveryone is different. I had a friend and she was mad about horses and had a big collection including tack.

I had a Sindy doll as well. Must say they look better with clothes on rather than naked!!
ReplyDeleteYes they needed a clean up as well. I loved my Sindy's and my daughter had Barbies. Gill.

I never heard of Sindu's before reading your post, but I did have Barbie's. You did a great job on the clothes. No pattern? You are amazing! They even look happier.

I had a Sindy! I had the one with brown hair, red hair band, stripy jumper and jeans - circa 1963/4, the only other outfits I had was a red leatherette skirt and stockings.

I remember them well, I use to have Sindly and Pippa dolls, some of them are worth quite a bit now, wish I kept them x
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Pippa. Glad you reminded me. I think I only had one. Yes I agree the toys I had back then would be worth a lot.... If only we had known.

It's lovely to see you dressing up these dolls. I do so love it when items are re-loved.
