UPCYCLED CHAIR FOR SNUG ROOM

As you know I have the painting bug at the moment.
We have lots of old pine boring furniture which came from our house in London.
So I am now having a sort out and up cycling lots of it.
I found this old chair and thought it would be perfect to put in snug room but
it needed to be yellow to go with the new sofa.

The tin maybe messy! but honest I am not a messy painter.

I have never liked this chair but now I have painted it.
It is like a new piece of furniture.

I have put it in the corner of the room near the bookcase with a yellow throw .

I could not get a decent picture so had to put it in the middle of the room to photograph it.

When this room is completely finished I will try to get better pictures for you.......

TOO MANY CREAM TEAS ????

Well as you know Cornwall and Devon are well known for their cream teas.

When I go treasure hunting/shopping I always try to find a nice tea/ coffee shop.
But now I have Archie with me all the time it is a bit more awkward.

So I thought I would take a few pics of places we have been to recently.

First we went to the town of Liskeard in Cornwall.
This tea room had lovely inside seating, but when I walked in with Archie I did not
feel comfortable so did not ask to sit inside.(not everyone wants a furbaby next to them
while they are eating). They have a lovely enclosed garden so we sat outside.
It was such a beautiful day I did not understand why more people were not outside.
There was only one other person enjoying the sun.

I love a cream tea but I do not drink tea so I always have a hot chocolate instead.

                                                          The beautiful walled garden.

Our next shopping trip was to Tavistock in Devon

This tea /coffee house is tucked away off the main high street.

Again it was a beautiful sunny day, so we found a lovely table outside.

Their cream tea was lovely and they even brought Archie some water out.

Because it was off the main shopping area Archie could have a little run around
w                                            without the fear of him getting stepped on.

And the last cream tea  I had with my hubby in a Vintage tea shop in Callington Cornwall.
This is such a lovely tea shop which I have been to many times. They have always allowed me to take Archie in since he was 10 weeks old. And their cream teas are hard to beat.

As you can see Archie loves scones.........

And yes those scones are that big. I managed one and half only.

Well after looking back at these pictures I realize I have had too many cream teas this month!

So next time I go out it will be a coffee only!  Honest!

A BIG welcome to my new followers I really appreciate that you like my little blog enough
to follow me........I still get a thrill to see someone has joined me.

Hope you have all had a good day.

MORE PAINT- THIS TIME MY FRONT DOOR. AND A NEW SEATING ARRANGEMENT.

Hi everybody. Could not get in the garden today too much rain.
I hope you had a better day. Son broke up from college today for Easter break (Fri)
so that's good no college runs for two weeks!!!!!

What is great as I have lots of plans to do around the house and garden.

I thought I would show you another painting job I did this week.
We have always had a white front door since we lived here and as you
know if you read my post's I am adding more colour to our home.
So it was the turn of the front door. I used another Anne Sloan paint this time
in yellow.  I must admit when I started I was a little scared. But reassured myself
everything looks bad to begin with and  you must wait to judge.
This stable door is my main front door to my farmhouse and goes directly into my
kitchen. Which you know now has a splash of pink in.

I love with these paints you do not get a flat perfect colour.

I love it. It looks so nice to have some colour on the outside for a change.

I also had time to move my seat/arbour thingy. It used to be on the grass area of the garden.
But I found it was never used. So last time hubby was home we moved it between us closer
to the house. But I was not sure where to site it. And so this week I found the perfect place for it.

I will need to touch up the white when we have a sunny day.
But before then I could not resist adding some bunting.
A nice floral cushion and then a perfect place to chill out.
I am sure it will be more used now and I am looking forward
to takiing my knitting out there.

I have only been able to do all these jobs because Archie now has a morning nap in his playpen.
And the other dogs join him......

NEW FURNITURE IN SNUG ROOM.

We have not bought new furniture for many years. When we moved from London to Cornwall
we had a lot of furniture which we just fitted into this house. but was never right for the
rooms.

So I thought it was about time we brought bits to actually go into the rooms.
The first room I am starting with is the snug room. This room is mainly used by our
son to play games and do his homework .
So I wanted pieces  a bit more modern, but also bits that would sit nicely in my
old house.

So this is what I brought. All from Ikea.

I love this cabinet it reminds me of lockers at school.

This side table is lovely and colourful and each section lifts up for extra storage.

I brought two of these laptop tables . I needed one for myself to use in the lounge instead of
 keep moving the coffee table.

And lastly this bright yellow sofa. Just a two seater but a perfect size for the room.

I now need to redecorate the room .
But first I need the electricians to come round to add a few new sockets.

I was not sure if I would like the furniture as I ordered it all on line,
But we are all very pleased.

ANNE SLOAN PAINTED KITCHEN- WHITE TO PINK.

I have been busy doing a few projects.

I decided that it was time that I up dated my kitchen units. I had painted them
white before, but thought a bit of colour would make a change.

So I brought some Anne Sloan chalk paint in a very pale pink and
clear wax to finish. I love the finish of these paints.

Sorry pictures are a bit bright it was too sunny in my kitchen.

Still making up my mind if I want to change the handles.

What would you do? love to hear.

EASTER TREE

It has been Spring like weather in my part of Cornwall. So have been able to do
a few projects outside for a change.

Animals are all enjoying the sun and my front door which opens onto my main garden
has been wide open for most of the day....

I thought I would show you where I put my Easter bits.

I made a Easter tree in my kitchen which I put on top of my Smeg. I think it
looks really pretty and very Spring like.

I have now bought some chocolate eggs but they have been put away!!!

Have you started to decorate for Easter? Do you have to hide the chocolate eggs?

SHOPPING BAGS CAN BE PRETTY.

Today I treated myself to a new shopping bag.
Could not resist this one because it is so colourful and pretty.
It is plastic material but woven.

Such lovely soft colours. I used it today and it was perfect. Holds a lot, very strong
comfortable to carry and the most important pretty to look at.

Hope you have been having a good day.
