GLAD TO BE BACK

Hi everyone. I am so glad to be back.

I have been unabled to do any blogging because my notebook died.

I have had to wait until my hubby came home, to see if he could fix it.

As you may be aware a few weeks ago my camera packed up, so I am already having to use my phone for pics. Not perfect but I was getting by. But when the laptop died I was at a lost.

I don't know what is happening at our house but everything is breaking down .

Here is the list so far.

Camera

Electric kettle

Printer  - Now mended.

Lap top - Now mended.

Kitchen T.v.

Fingers crossed nothing else will go wrong.  Hubby looked at t.v. but it's no good. still hoping he can fix kettle, but I know there's not a lot of hope. I wanted to not spend any money after Christmas and maybe save a little !     The broken items will have to wait to be replaced because I have other priorities to pay for. My notebook is working again but still playing up, so I hope it keeps going for now.

Now catching up with a lot of reading of your lovely blogs, then I will get back to normal and do some posts
shortly. While I have been offline I have had time to do some knitting and sewing , so have a few bits to show you.

Hope your keeping nice and cosy . It's beginning to get cold here in Cornwall and we had large sleet yesterday..........

HANDMADE RAG WREATH

If you have been reading my Blog you will know that I made
a tiny Rag Wreath for my new Dolls House.

I have never made a Rag Wreath before.
But after making the tiny one I wanted to make a full size version.

I found a old metal coat hanger.
Bent it into a circle shape.
Then used left over fabric. to cover.

I think it has come out really pretty.
I was shocked at how quick and easy it was to make.
It looks fab on my pink dresser.

                            I will be making more.

                            Have you tried?

What do you use to make the ring?

                            Would love to hear.

Have you spotted what fabric I used ?

It was the fabric I had left over from my Dolls House curtains.
                  Russian Dolls and Patchwork.

Give yourself a pat on the back if you noticed this.

HOMEMADE PRESENTS

I made a couple of presents for my daughter.

I used to do a lot of drawing and painting in the past.
But have not got the time anymore. I'm not that good but just enjoy it.

So I did a drawing of our five dogs for my daughter.
I knew she would appreciate my effort.

I did not have a photo of all five dogs together.
They never stay still long enough.
So I had to take bits from different photos to draw them.
I really enjoyed doing this and it has reminded me how much
I used to enjoy drawing. I will now find time to do more.
                          And hopefully get better!
My daughter loved it even though it was not my best work.

Also do you remember me playing with clay at Christmas.
My daughter wanted me to make Bailey.
This is the finished result. I painted him orange and added a ribbon.
                       Again she loved this.

It's so  nice to have fun making things for people that truly appreciate
all the love you put into them.

Did you make lots of things for your loved ones at Christmas.

I would like to be brave and have a complete homemade Christmas.
But it has not happened yet.

GREEN TREASURES

MY BARGAIN OF THE DAY !

Some days you just come across a great bargain.
I found these green bottles in a market.
They had loads in a box. So I was able to pick my own.

They had dug them out of the ground around Cornwall.

                                  They only cost 50p each.........

I put some dried roses I had done in the large one.
And left the other two empty.
They look really pretty when the sun. (Yes I did say Sun)
                       shines through them.

                              I love a pretty Bargain.
                                     Don't you.

WHAT TO DO WITH SPARE FELT !

.
Hope you had a good Friday.

I'm so glad the weekend is here.
This week has been really busy.It has been a big effort
to get back into routine with the school runs etc.

Today I thought I would show you some of my recent makes.

I had a little felt left and wanted to make something
So of course it had to be Gingerbread men.

I had brought some lovely pastel buttons.
They were perfect to use for this.

I made two dark brown ones and one light brown.

I added two buttons on each and stitched their eyes and mouths.
Then sewed blanket stitch round the edges then stuffed.
To finish I added a white ribbon.

I stitched them onto a long length of white ribbon.
And then added two felt hearts with a cross stitch.

I think they came out o.k. And they did not take long to make.

I love making things out of felt.

                                            Do You?

IT WASN'T ME MUM ! HONEST.

I thought I would show you what greeted me one morning after a night of Thunder and Storms.

When I went to greet our dogs Kermit and Theodore one morning this is what I found. A complete mess.  They must of not liked the storm during the night......
I was lucky that most of the glass bottles and jugs were to high.

The bottom shelf had been full up of all sorts of different paints, brushes, pots, glitter, glue you name it.
And now it was all over the floor. Including a hoover, paper and cardboard.

They had spread bits everywhere. I did not know where to start.
But I could not be mad with them. They must of been so scared.
I had slept through most of it and only heard a bit in the morning.

                                                                It wasn't me Mum!

Was it you Kermit? Are your paws red.

Have you been on the radiator? It seems to be red too.

The dogs had broken some of the acrylic paints and Kermit had been running in it.
I now have a bit of a red floor.

I now need to find a better place for all the paints.!!!!!

Their room is now back to normal except for a splash of red paint ..

Have you got pets? Do their hate this bad weather we are having.?

MAKE OVER ON DOLLS HOUSE.

Today I thought I would show you the make over I did to my dolls house.

                                                    Just a little paint

I never liked the green roof. But now it's all white.
I am beginning to like it more.

Can you see what's on the door.

Sorry picture not clear still having to use camera on phone.

                                                        A Rag Wreath.

I also made tiny bunting. But not sure where to put this yet.

Not sure if I am keeping the house completely white yet.

Just wanted to get it clean and tidy before deciding how to finish renovating it.

Any ideas?   Would love to hear

Dolls house has also got some new furniture etc, will show you next time.

MY NEW DOLLS HOUSE.

Here is my Dolls House I got for Christmas.

                                 It's about thirteen years old.

So needs a little attention here and there

I have always wanted one but never got round to having one.

I have already made tiny curtains.

The top ones are a tiny patchwork.

And the bottom ones have tiny Russian dolls on.

The roof is painted green , but it is a bit shiny for my taste.

I have added some wallpaper for interest.

The rooms all have this brown carpet.

                                     Again tatty, needs changing.

This is the bedroom above and the lounge below.

I was lucky also that I got some furniture and a family for my house.

The Christmas tree is glass , I already had this. It is a perfect size for the house.

As you can see a pile of furniture still to be placed.

And the beginnings of a kitchen.

I also wallpapered this room in shades of orange.

A bit retro looking, don't you think..

I  am enjoying turning this dolls house to my taste and style.

I have already changed quite a lot .

                                        Show you next time.

CHARITY SHOP FIND- CUTE TRAIN

It's been nothing but rain in Cornwall today. The ground cannot cope so we have little streams running down the country lanes taking gravel and leaves with it.
So today was a day to stay home and keep warm. As daughter back at Uni and son soon to be back at school. I decided it was a good day to take the Christmas Decorations down. I started with the easy bits then tackled the tree in the lounge. So you're guessed it needles everywhere. So a good hoover around as well. Then I did venture outside and got wet ,removing all the outside decorations. I was cursing myself at how many baubles I had managed to hang on the trees, but I must admit it did look so pretty..
The decorations are all neatly packed away now, waiting for their reappearance next December.
I have not taken my paper balls down. I think I might leave them up for a while.......

The last of the sweets are nearly gone and most of the Christmas snacks/ party food is finally coming to an end.

I've got one more day of relaxing because son has a inset day so does not go back till Tuesday;
Then it will be back to normal. But I am ready for normal.

I managed to still find time to make a few bits and will show you these in later posts.
But for now more of my buys

Not sure how old this is. But I love old wooden toys and could not resist this.

It was only £1.00 and is very study

I bet it has been so loved and played with.

Ted is now retiring at our house.

LITTLE FRIENDS- VINTAGE TREASURES

Today has been a very busy day. Daughter went back to Uni.  Start of term already.
We have had a wonderful time as a family with her home and I am already missing her terribly.
Driving back on my own, I must admit there were some tears.  It will take me some time to adjust again without her being here. But with my life so busy with all our pets I'm sure I will be o.k.

Anyway today's post I wanted to show you some more treasures.
I found a couple of little friends at a charity shop and had to bring them home.

The first doll just stands up. But the other two have china legs and can stand or sit.

They are really tiny and have lots of details on their dresses.

They now have a new home with us.

VINTAGE TREASURES- AND TWO OF THEM!

I love charity shopping. You never know what you will find.

Sometimes I can go and come back empty handed and disappointed.

And sometimes on those rare occasions something just jumps out at me.

This is what I found on one of the good days.

Two  serving dishes. I love the simple yellow flowers.

They were only £2.00 each and are perfect.

                                           My bargain of the day!

I love buttons and hearts so this is perfect.

It looks like real buttons stuck on but it's only a picture
When I have time I will make another canvas with real buttons.

I have put this up in my lounge the soft colours look really pretty in my room.

What have you treated yourself to lately?
