Easter Baskets

For Easter this year I brought my children one large chocolate Bunny and Chick. Then thought it would be nice to make up a basket of my own.

I found  these colourful baskets at Tesco's I filled them with tissue paper. Added a small yellow chick and a soft bunny to each basket.

I then found lots of different small Easter Chocs to fill each basket. I think the result is really pretty and more personal . My children love them. Have you made up your own?

I don't think they will last very long!

Have a very chocolate filled day.

Sunday morning we had hot cross buns for breakfast with tea and hot chocolate.
Then we gave out the chocolate.........

The fruit is to make me feel better and to give the option of a healthy choice. NO CHANCE!

I think the chocolate will win.

Hope you are having a lovely day with your family and friends.

Bertie Charlie and Baileys Weekly Adventures-Room only for two.

Mum is fed up of us on her kitchen chairs. I think she has to keep washing the cushions because we keep forgetting to wipe our paws.... But we love muddy paws.

So Mum has given us a cushion and blanket by the door. It's quite cosy.
Time for a nap or two.

                                                        What about me?

But there is only room for two. Mum help we need a bigger cushion!

HAPPY EASTER FROM BERTIE CHARLIE AND BAILEY.

Hand Knitted Bags And Toys, Toys, Toys.

This is the last of my hand knitted bits at the moment. When I have time in the evenings I am knitting 1 Granny blanket and crocheting 2 others. When I get bored I just swap to the next!

Instead of making toys all the time I thought I would try bags. These are some of my attempts. No pattern again. Just made up myself.

This one my daughter knitted. I love the colour combination.

Here they are all together. More than what I thought. If I keep going I will have to open a shop HA! HA!

Are you the same. Have you got loads of hand crafted bits around? Do you think I should sell?
Or maybe do a craft fair.......

                                             Keep Knitting,

Have a Wonderful Easter. I will be diving into the chocolate on Sunday, then feeling sick Sunday afternoon!

Where ever you are or whoever you are with or visiting have a lovely break, and pray for some sun.

Daughters Den

Just had to show you this. It's so cute

My daughter was doing a series of photos for a project and wanted to build a den to shoot.

So my kitchen chairs, cushions, knitted blanket and Cath Kidson tin were all gathered up.

I joined in and added the flowers.

The last time I saw her den build she was about 5 years old.  She would set up under my dinning room table
with all her dolls and teddies. She would spend hours under there playing, Happy Days!

So 19 years later here she is again den building. I think it was really sweet and brought back lots of memories. For a laugh she got inside and I did take a pic but that one is for the family album only! Sorry.

Have your grown up children done anything that reminded you of their childhood. Would love to hear.

Meet My Hand Knitted Rabbit.

This is my hand knitted rabbit......

I did not have a pattern I just made it up as I went along. I made about four of these all in different pastel colours. but they have all now gone to good homes. This is the last one left.

I also knitted them all matching waistcoats and added a small ribbon to their necks.

And of course every rabbit has a tail.! I always put a R on the back of everything I make, if possible.

Lots more knitted toys to come.....................

Hi everybody we have been hiding in doors it's been soooooo cold outside.

Today there is some sun so we have ventured outside. Bertie what's behind this? It;s Mums wood store. When mums not looking I sneak inside, that gate does not keep me out but don't let her know.

I'm sure we could go this way before

Where did this fence come from?  Do fence's grow like flowers,

How do we get to the grass garden Bailey..

That was clever Charlie but I can't jump that high with my little legs..

Don't worry Bailey we can go through this gate, or we can climb this hedge,it looks fun.

Made it. Lovely grass garden at last.

Bye fro now.

                               It's raining outside again!

The daffodils are trying to stand up straight.

The dogs are tip toeing around the puddles.

I keep reminding myself  we will get sun in Cornwall .

SO TO CHEER MYSELF UP I PUT SOME EASTER DECORATIONS

                                                                    UP!

The twigs are just out of the garden. (There are plenty around at this time of year) The eggs I have collected from various places. I have put my vase at the end of my kitchen table it looks fantastic against my wall.

I brought my first chocolate Easter eggs today for my children. I thought I might as well make a start as I have a few to buy. Last year I tried making my own  and it was a disaster, I couldn't get them out of the molds  Has anyone else tried? How did you get on?  I really want to try again.

Have a nice weekend, Keep dry.

My knitted Gingerbread Men

A belated Happy Mothers Day to everybody.

Hope you all had a fantastic day!     My children surprised me with homemade lemon meringue tarts, pink
butterfly cakes and normal large meringues for breakfast. I also had a handmade knitted scarf and of course
beautiful flowers and a card. I took photo's but forgot my SD card was not in my camera. Pictures are saved on my camera's memory but I will have to get the manual out to find out how to transfer them......
My children looked after me all day it was wonderful.

Anyway I haven't done anything crafty for a while so I thought I would show you some of the toys I have made.

These are my Gingerbread men. I did not have a pattern I just worked it out. I love the large buttons.

As you can see I got a bit carried away.  There were more but I have sold a few to friends etc.
I have quite a few knitted toys, I might try selling some when I have the time. What do you think?
Would love to hear, I know you are a talented lot out there. Will show you more in other posts.

Are you getting the white stuff again? It's been trying to snow here today, really cold but nothing settled yet.
I thought we were past all this. I was loving the few sunny days we had and looking forward to Spring.

                                        Keep Warm.

Free Sunshine.

Today I  was able to pick lots of Daffodils for free.

They are growing in all my hedgerows around my stables. So I was able to pick some still leaving plenty to keep growing and looking beautiful.

It's so nice to bring the sunshine home for free!!!!!

I think I will have sunshine in my house for a few weeks now fingers crossed.... Have you been able to find a free supply of flowers? Or do you grow them in your garden for picking?

Thank you to everyone who's left me some really nice comments, they are much appreciated. and I love to read them. Sorry I do not have the time to reply  as life is too busy at the moment.
One question was do I have a ghost in my house as my house is so old......... Yes I think I do but that is another story!

Bye for now enjoy your evening.

One of my small rooms.

Hi everyone. Today I thought I would show you one of my small rooms in my farmhouse.

This is my Larder  / Utility room. It was already done when we brought the house. It is off the kitchen which is really handy having an extra sink. Very useful for washing our dogs bowls etc. I have my dishwasher and washing machine on one side under one worktop. If I had designed it I would of put another Belfast sink in and have open shelves. But until this one needs to be replaced I will just have to wait. I have added a up
cycled pink shelf which I have edged in lace.(A girl cannot have enough pink).

Opposite is a carved worktop. And above that I have a drying Dollie. I keep my potatoes and veg in one of my wicker baskets. And the storage tin is from Laura Ashley., the two 7lb weights I have had years, so can;t remember where I got them.

What do you keep your veg in?

I love my Laura Ashley tin. It has a tiny splash of green on it And it is floral as well.

My soap holder is made of simple wire with a few hearts for good taste.

Hope you have enjoyed a look into one of my small rooms. It's so nice to have a room where most of the mess is hidden, the engine of the house..... Hopefully one day I can bring it up to scratch with the rest of the house. When money allows!
