In a medium bowl beat eggs, vanilla and lemon zest with an electric mixer on high speed for approx 5 Min's.
Gradually beat in the icing sugar, mix until thick and satiny.
Sift together the flour and baking powder. Gently fold into your egg mix.
Then fold in your cooled melted butter.
Spoon batter mix into your greased and floured tins.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 Min's until the edges are golden brown.

Anyone for Tea.

There is nothing better than a cup of tea!

How many teapots does one person need?

A perfect pot for sheep lovers.

Something floral.

Pots for one.

Teapots need  to be kept warm.

This was knitted for me from my late Nan, so is really special to me.

Cupcake.

Anyone for spots.

Or maybe plain.

Or how about a cute sheep.

Most of them I brought off E Bay except the sheep one and the blue and white one.

I would love to open a tea shop  or tea garden one day (We can all dream).

The funny thing is I do not even like tea I am a coffee drinker !!! but I love doing it for my family and friends.

Do you collect things that you would not use yourself?

Have a nice evening, enjoy your tea.

My Lucky Find Of The Day- Shabby Chic Coffee Table.

Sometimes you just have to spend!. This year I'm trying to save and be good. But sometimes you can not resist a bargain.

I've got a couple of shops close by that sell used furniture. Most of the time it is expensive rubbish. But you have to keep popping in because they may have something worth having.

There I found this green coffee table . I wasn't sure if it would go with my lounge. I have blue sofas!.
But after a couple of days to get used to it, I love it. My old coffee table was round and really too small. If you put a few drinks and a plate of biscuits on it, you did not have room for anything else. We are now enjoying having the extra space and can't wait to have a special tea in front of the T.V

This was my bargain of the day for £20.00 after a bit of haggling down from £29.00 already painted and already Shabby Chic,so no work for me!

Have you found any bargains lately? Would love to hear.

Update on painted T.V. Unit.

I thought I would show you what I finally did with my T.V. Unit. In my previous post I showed you how I had up cycled an old piece of furniture for my lounge. If you would like to see from start to finish see my post
(Up Cycled T.V. Unit).

I could not decide what to do next. I do not like to see all the bits and bobs that goes with your T.V.

I had a really pretty floral  material, left over from another project that was just perfect.

What do you think?  I hope you like it. It  really goes well in my shabby chic lounge. And hides all those nasty bits us girls do not want to see, which men can't live without......

I have another large piece of furniture to up cycle waiting in the wings. Just need the motivation to start.  It's a lovely sunny morning today which puts a smile on my face.,and makes we want to start on the garden. There are always lots of jobs to do around here. Living in the countryside is a lot of work.

But I would not change it. I'm a townie changed to a country loving mum. Have a great day!

                       Have a lovely evening.

My Lucky Find Of The Day- Kitchen Chair

I found this kitchen chair in a local shop close by me. They wanted £32.00 but I got them to drop to £25.00
I love a  bargain and whatever the price tag I always have fun trying to get it cheaper and 9 out of 10 times I
do...

It fits nicely in my kitchen and looks right at home with a cushion and granny blanket. Bailey thinks it's great too...But it's Mums Chair not his.

I'm not sure of the colour it is a very orange pine. NOT MY TASTE. So I think I will have to paint it in the summer.

What do you think, any ideas on colour?

HAPPY PANCAKE DAY -EVERYBODY.

Today I have done nothing but eat. This morning for a treat for my children (and really for me!) I made scones for breakfast. My son is off school ill and my daughter is at home until she starts Uni this Sept. So this was a nice treat for them both.

Then after tea tonight of course we had to have pancakes and guess who managed two...

.
I just had lemon and sugar and that was enough. Have to make a note to myself (Buy new non stick pan)
before next year. All of my pancakes got stuck in the middle but they were still yummy.

Have a nice evening. enjoy your pancakes, don't eat too many  !!!!

Rain Again -But Sunshine Inside.

I love fresh flowers in the house. If I had the money I would just fill the house everyday.

Weather was rain again so I thought I would cheer myself up and bring some sunshine inside.

I could not resist some yellow tulips and of course daffs... There were enough to fill two vases. One for my kitchen and one for the lounge.

A few flowers are starting to show their heads in my garden,  roll on spring,I can't wait ...

Some flowers coming up despite the ivy. Lots of jobs to do in the garden when it gets a little warmer.
But at the moment I would rather cosy up in front of the fire and do a bit of knitting.

                     What about you?
