ANNE SLOAN PAINTED KITCHEN- WHITE TO PINK.

I have been busy doing a few projects.

I decided that it was time that I up dated my kitchen units. I had painted them
white before, but thought a bit of colour would make a change.

So I brought some Anne Sloan chalk paint in a very pale pink and
clear wax to finish. I love the finish of these paints.

Sorry pictures are a bit bright it was too sunny in my kitchen.

Still making up my mind if I want to change the handles.

What would you do? love to hear.

  1. What a pretty pink, I have never used chalk paint, but I know a lot of people paint furniture with it, does it just need one coat and then a wax?

    1. HI. No you need to do at least two coats, but I did two whole coats then dabbed a bit more on where I thought it needed it. Then I used a clear wax which you put on with a cloth to protect the paint. You can get different waxes.
If you like perfect flat paintwork it is not for you. I love the non perfect finish it gives. The paint is expensive but goes a long way. The nice part you do not have to sand prepare any wood before painting.. It just goes straight on.
I am a big fan you can tell.

  4. Pink in a kitchen, every thought says that it should not work, but My Goodness I love it. I think that I would try to find ceramic handles to match the Aga. It picks up the colours in the rug beautifully.

    1. Hi Jane. I found a shop that sells quite a few colours, it was hard to choose....But now I have started painting
furniture some to keep some to sell. So I expect I will get through most of the colours. Take care.

  10. Oh look at you painting your cabinets pink !
brave girl , course we have to brave sometimes our lives LOL
I like the drawer pulls I like how they melt into the cabinets
Now if you want some blitz and glamour add some shinny silver or rhinestones pulls

    1. My cabinets are oak, And most people would never of painted them, but I do not like bare wood. I love oak frame houses but that is so different. So painting them from white to pink was easy. And my hubby is so easy going, so lets me do what I like.

    1. Hi Candy. No I brought it from a store. But you can find it on ebay. I paid £18.99 for a large tin as in pictures and I think the wax was approx £6 something.....But I find it is only in specialist small shops who stock it.
      Good luck and have fun.
