TOO HOT FOR CHOCS.
How are you all ? Keeping cool I hope. This weather is crazy. I don't know what to wear each day. I thought I had lots of summer clothes but with this weather here to stay for the moment I will have to buy some more shorts...... How about you are you prepared with your summer wardrobe.?
This week my son has been doing work experience. I have really felt sorry for him working in a large barn in this heat. He has to wear long trousers and safety boots so is really hot. But he has really enjoyed himself working with some lovely people and now appreciates what work is all about.
Tomorrow is his last day so we have prepared a thank you card and I fished out one of my vintage plates then I went shopping today and brought a variety of fruit. In his heat chocs and cakes are out.
I covered it with cling film and added a crepe bow. I hope they like it. They are a family run firm who has really looked after my son this week.
Has your children done work experience this week?
Or are your children moving up school.?
Have you made a special present for them to give to their teachers etc.
Would love to hear.
Stay safe in the sun.

BRIGHT COLOURS FOR THE CORNERS OF THE GARDEN.
Still hot in Cornwall. How are you all coping. Lots of sun cream and floppy hats I hope.
Well I say floppy hats, I look dreadful in hats and to this day have not found one I would be seen in.
Tell a lie I do wear a knitted hat in the winter down the stables where nobody except family will see me.
I have been trying to add some colour to my garden. I popped down to my word of mouth little nursery and brought some pretties.
These wire wall hangers are great ,they have two curved hooks that you can hook into a trellis like I have done or maybe over a gate or fence. They have moved with us from house to house.
Lots of pots, not sure if I will keep them all here. or move them around the garden.
The wooden pot I brought from Home base at Christmas. I use it for my indoor small Christmas tree. I like these three pots together. They are by my front porch.
I also brought 5 large courgettes, 2 extra large beetroots, 2 lots of strawberries and the above pretties and it only came to £7.50 a bargain.......
Have you got a special place near you, to get value for money?
Take care Speak soon.

Too Hot To Work
HOT! HOT! HOT!
How are you all coping? It's so hot in Cornwall I feel like we are melting.
I have all these good intentions of sorting out the house and doing all the little DIY jobs but it is just too hot.
I'm waking up at 6 a.m. so by 8 a.m. I 've feed and watered all the animals. Done a line of washing, put the dishwasher on and tidyed the kitchen.
Then it is just too hot to do much more. The dogs are just popping outside for a short time then flopping down in the kitchen.
I made some cookies and cheese straws in the morning. Then prepared a roast dinner. After all that time in front of the AGA I was at boiling point.
So I took a quick dip in the pool.

My legs are not that fat I promise. Just the angle of the camera.
I think Charlie wanted to join me.
Bertie and I also tried to cool off on the swing chair.
Bertie Charlie and Bailey love taking shade under a tree.
Finally time to go indoors.
Hope you are having a fab weekend.
Until tomorrow.

Bertie Charlie and Baileys Weekly Adventures- Look at Me.
Woof Woof Woof.
The weathers still lovely and warm. But if you have a fur coat like us you have to stay in the shade a lot.
So Mum have given us a hair cut.
Check us out.
Charlie I can now see my legs.
You look more like me now Bertie. We look so cool!
Yes it's still me Bailey. You did not need a hair cut. You still have only puppy fur.
We are lovely and cool now so lots of running around the garden.
See you all soon.

Housework What housework.
How are you all coping with the hot weather?
Do you love it or hate it?
I'm finding it hard to do the housework and it's unbearable to do any gardening until early evening and then I just want to chill and relax.
I feel sorry for my son who still has a week or so to go before he breaks up for the summer hols. By the time he arrives home from school in this heat He is exhausted.
With this in mind I brought us all a little treat.
Want to see !
We already have a 15 ft pool but by the time we set it up and fill with water which takes 3-4 days it normally rains. So I brought this smaller version which is only 10 ft and it was filled the day we brought it.
It has been 31 degrees the last 3-4 days so we have all been having a dip to cool off.
Its not wide enough or deep enough to swim but I brought some blow up floats so we still have some fun.
How are you cooling off?
I think if this weather carries on I will be taking a dip everyday.
My dinosaur float is call Dilan
Bye for now put plenty of sun cream on.

Do you want to have a walk around my garden?
Sun Sun and More Sun. Hope you are having a lovely time in this great weather. Being in Cornwall we are only a short distance from the beach. But as yet have not found the time to visit one.
I thought today I would give you a short tour of some of my garden.
Do you want to see?
Some hanging baskets to add some colour.
Lots of flowers beginning to show their heads
Would you like to go through the archway?
Our double swing which goes from house to house
Another place to sit.
Have you enjoyed the tour? Please pop by again.

Bertie Charlies and Baileys Weekly Adventures- Holes what holes Mum.
Hi everyone. Bertie Charlie and Bailey here.
We have been having a lovely week sun bathing in the garden. Chasing bees and birds and watching Mum doing the gardening. Don't know why she works so hard we like it how it is. There's always lots of grass to play on. We play a game with Mum. We dig and then she fills them in. So we dig again! Sometimes we dig and Mum does not find them so we make them even more bigger the next day. Bailey is great at doing this.
It wasn't me Mum. I was just getting my ball.
BYE see you all soon. Woof Woof Woof.

GOODBYE LITTLE COTTAGE
I have been really busy these past weeks, hence not many posts. Slap hands.....
My son is up to his eyes in GCSE's but seem to be doing well and coping with all the revision.
The garden seems to not stop growing so it's an impossible task to keep it tidy and get rid of the cuttings.
But I love it when you can just sit back and give yourself a pat on the back for all your hard work.
I have been renovating another cottage for approx two years now. I know that's a long time but with all my other commitments there's not much time left in my day.
It was a complete mess. It took myself and my daughter 3 weeks just to clear it out. We have put in double glazing in a form of cottage style. Put a stable door in the front. Had it completely rewired and plastered.
New bathroom, outside lights and a lot of filling and painting. I'm sick of magnolia.
'
We painted all the beams white, which makes the lounge really bright. It has a working fireplace which always makes the room cosy. and a stone wall to one end of the room.
We replaced the bathroom suite with a white one and added an electric shower. We used cream tiles for the walls. Lots of magnolia again...
It has been a lot of work but finally it has all came together. I could not of got this far without the help of my daughter. She has been a star.
The last piece of the jigsaw is fitting the kitchen. We have brought a wooden kitchen with a Belfast sink to keep with the character of the cottage. As you can see I've had my hands full. But now it's nearly at a end.
Anyone else renovating another house? Do you do your own decorating or do you pay the professionals?
I have always renovated my own houses. I will always have a go. It does not always turn out perfect, but I always try my hardest. And only get the professionals in when I have to, that way I save the pennies.
We finished by painting the outside and adding a few flowers.
We are now saying goodbye to our little cottage as we have sold fingers crossed.!
It will be sad but I will not miss all that hard work.
I've now going to spend time on my own home. There is always something to do as it's 300 years old. So the upkeep is ongoing.
Have a fab evening.
