A BRAND NEW BREAD MAKER- FOUND AT A CHARITY SHOP.-BUT A SAD STORY.

This is another charity shop find.
But it was brand new never used still in the plastic.
I had always wanted a bread maker but was not sure how good they were.
                                   I only paid £25.00 a bargain.

At the time the charity shop had a couple of shelves full of new items.
And the story behind them was. That an old lady who lived alone used to buy
them all but never needed or used any, She purely brought them to just
have a little company when they were delivered. And when she passed
away she had donated them all to the charity shop. Such a sad story.......
And I am sure there are many more lonely elderly people on their own,

When I go out I sometimes get an elderly person make conversation out
of nothing. So now I stop and think, about that old lady and make sure
if possible to have a little chat. It does not hurt only takes five minutes.
I may be the only person that day they have spoken to.

We will all get old and may need somebody.......................

Anyway After that sad note.

Here is some of the bread I have made

We use it all the time and every loaf comes out perfect.

My children always want me to make a Granery loaf.

It even has a delayed timer so it can go on in the morning,
before you get up. So you have fresh bread

As you can see we eat it while it is hot with the butter melting.
The smell of fresh bread you can not resist.

                                                          One of my best buys

Oh I nearly forgot you can also make cake in it.
Just perfect.. Wish I had brought one ages ago.
No more mess on the worktop.

                                         Anyone else got a breadmaker?
Do you love or hate it?

  1. I have had a breadmaker for years, almost since they first came out, and I am now on my second one. I do not always bake the bread in it but use the dough function weekly. I had to choose between it and the stand mixer when I moved. I gave the mixer away

  2. I love the back story. I think that the lady who originally bought this would be thrilled at the idea that it has gone to a worthy home and that the person who bought this understands her. I think you can feel proud that she would be happy that her purchase is now being used to provide nourishing family times. xxx

  5. Well done with your first efforts! My bread-maker looks to be the same model, but I have not had many successful baking days :(. All I know is that the ingredients must be precisely measured, and that it is best not to attempt bread making on humid days!!

  13. Susan I use the same measurements whatever type of loaf I make. Which is 9 Fluids of warm water in first. One pound 2 ozs of flour. One oz of butter, then one pkt of dried yeast. Breadmaker set on 1 kg loaf. Works for me every time. Good luck.
